Life Care Planning

Because We Care

Because We Care

At Maine Elder Law Attorneys, P.A., we know that life provides many unexpected turns. While we can anticipate many of the challenges come along with the aging process, every client’s circumstances are different, and that calls for a unique, individualized approach in each case.

The planning and legal services we provide are tailored to the needs of each client and their family. For instance, we may recommend initiating Guardianship proceedings or creating a Power of Attorney if you or a loved one experience health or cognitive changes. But that only covers the “legal” side of things.

Healthcare management and long-term care options can be overwhelming for many families. We understand that life continues long after the legalities are in order, and we want to help you navigate the maze of choices and requirements to succeed in making life the best it can be for you and your family.

That is why, in addition to our legal services, we offer Life Care Planning.

Life Care Planning can include an array of services including:

  • Care coordination
  • Handling Medicare/HMO matters
  • Care advocacy
  • Insurance appeals
  • MaineCare(Medicaid) planning

Our team offers ongoing support, resources, and guidance and are always ready to answer your questions. We can help make you aware of available services and develop a plan to ensure your wishes are given top priority no matter what obstacles come your way.

At Maine Elder Law Attorneys, P.A., our concern extends to the whole family. We work to maximize services and benefits while conserving assets so the aging process does not leave you impoverished. At the same time, we strive to develop a plan that avoids care giver “burnout” as circumstances change.

How it Works

The length and price of your life care plan will be based on your needs and goals. Plans generally range from three months to three years, but we will work with you for as long as necessary to achieve your objectives.

Each client is assigned a Care Coordinator who starts the process by working to understand your priorities and the details of your individual situation. By building a strong relationship with you, we can better assist you with the intricate decision making involved in the planning process.

We strive to ensure you get the help you need, while reducing the burden on family members. We can work in conjunction with family to help them better understand the resources involved, or we can manage the process entirely on your behalf. Our highest priority is to ensure you enjoy the best quality of life throughout the days of your life.
